Default BBK Headers

I recently tried to install some BBK equal lenght shorty headers on my 94 GT. The stock headers had an indentation for the steering linkage to be able to function and the new ones did not. Not surprisingly the new ones are having clearance issues with the steering likage. My car is lowered 2" but i dont see how that would make a difference. Does anyone have these headers on a 94 or 95? If so how did you get them to work? What are some headers that any of you are using that fit? Please let me know

The guy at BBK told me it might be my motor mounts so I replaced the driver's side mount. It just seems to me that if BBK is going to market a product for a certain car that it should fit that certain car. I dont really want to raise the motor mounts and i am not sure if i would be able to raise it enough without worrying about hood clearance and other issues. How do you like your Mac Headers?

I need about a full inch. I dont think there is enough room on the stud on the engine mount.

An inch seems like a lot. Are you sure. Check out my posts in this thread

https://mustangforums.com/m_1882793/tm.htm

Now I'm not real familiar w/ the sn's, but the motor is the same so it shouls apply. is the header just barely touching or is it rubbing so much that it makes turning the wheel quite difficult?

I need about a quarter of an inch when the car is just sitting there, but i am worried about when the motor moves while driving... Thats when steering becomes most important. I think i will give it a shot. I was also told to use a solid piece of steel or aluminum instead of washers if i went that rounte. I guess i will find something and drill a hole big enough for the stud. Thanks for the help. I will let you know how it goes later this week.

So I jacked the motor up about a half inch on each side and barely have clearance with the motor off. It doesnt look like it is going to work while i am driving. I dont have enough room on the motor mount stud to raise it anymore. Looks like i am going to have to dent my headers. I dont think I will be buying any more BBK parts.

I like my macs, had to pry on one header flange to get the bolt holes to line up as it is individual flanges and not the single flange. Other than that they look good, feel good, and sound GREAT!
