Hello I am new to the forums and to mustangs. I have been into cars for a while but I always have had GM's(I know). well I am interested in getting a fuel injected fox body. I know nothing about them other than they are always fast. what years are good and what should I look for that might be specicfic to these cars such as problem areas in the cars? also what is the difference between the GT and LX? any suggestions on the questions I have or resources to answer my questions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

u want an '89 and up. '87/'88 had mass-air-not good. gt and lx.........as far i know, the main difference is body, yet, i think the gt had a better suspension under it......i think. but, i may be wrong. if im wrong, somebody will tell you diff who actually knows for a fact. and the t-5's werent that great after you beat & abuse 'em for a while. especially 3rd gear. synchro's go out of them. but, other than that, idk any major problems. good luck. let us know what you decide

I would go with an 89-92 lx sport coupe because the coupe is about 50 pounds lighter and the body is a little more rigid.
I cant beleive you ever drove GM junk

Look for a 5.0 LX Stang preferably with the trunk, not the hatchback as this is the lightest combination you can get with the 5.0 powertrain option. The LX doesn't have all the power options they loaded the GT's with and it doesn't have the rubber aero package stuff that just adds extra weight. The convertibles are the heaviest models. All 5.0's from '89 on are mass air controlled, so you can do more mods to them and still be able to update the computer to handle the mods unlike the speed density cars built prior to '88 except in California. Glad to see you have gotten wiser and moved up to the Stangs.
