Should I have to remove quad shocks to run 255's ?
Hello
I'm thinking of getting Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials to run at the track. My Pony wheels are in pretty rough shape (finish is fading pretty bad) and I'm thinking of ordering a new set from summit and keeping the other to mount drag radials on. I know Nitto makes the 555R drag radial in 245/50/16 which is the same size that I have on there, but Mickey Thompson is making the ET Street Radial in 255/50/16 which would give me that "optimal" 26" tire height. Not to mention the fact everybody says the MT hooks alot better than the Nittos.
The question at hand is: Would I have to remove my quad shocks to run the 255's ? I just replaced my entire rear suspension (control arms and all) and went ahead and replaced the quad shocks. I know everybody says do away with the quad shocks but i figured they can't hurt. Anyway, does anybody know if this is going to be a problem? Just making sure before I order them.

How bad will those 255s look on a pony rim? Or should I just stick with the Nitto 555R 245/50's ?

yea i have 255/50/16 on the back 225/50/16 on the front, i still have my quad shocks, anything bigger you will have to remove them & if your just going to race it at the track remove ur quads and go with 285, if you drive it on the street then dont remove the quads, makes alittle more rougher ride.
