i just purchased a 83 gt. and i changed the carburator to a holley 600. the intake is stock.
the problem is when i put the car in gear and try to move. when i give it gas, the carburator
backfires and the car hesitates to move. can i get some help please

Check timing and electrical stuff.
Also check fuel level in the sight plugs on the side of the carb.
Is this carb new or used?
