Just turned 16 and my grandma gave me her 1994 mustang gt convertible, the thing is basically mint with only 27,000 miles on it, and a small dent in the passenger side front panel whcih im getting removed very soon, im wondering what the cheapest easiest way to boost my performance, any help would be extremely appreciated

wow....good deal man..looks nice and only 27,000 holy ****.Id start with diff gears..I have 3.73 and i love em.U also cannot go wrong with exaust.Make it sound nice and let then engine exhale a little better.

Add a CAI, add X-pipes with catback exhaust, advance timing to somewhere between 14* and 16* BTDC, add 3.73 or 4.10 gears, toss in a shift kit if it's an auto, add underdrive pulleys.


That right there should run you close to $1,000 depending on where you go... although not sure a 16 year old has that kind of cash.

For free, you can advance the timing and los the air silencer.

also what kind of gains do i achieve removin the air silencer?

okay, now I'm confused. The original post said GT but it doesn't look like a GT. Lets see under the hood or the exhaust

We aren't talking much of a gain with the silencer.. If I recall correctly you're looking at 3 - 5 HP. Someone may want to confirm that. Also when advaicing the timing from 10* - 16* thats about a 18 - 24 HP gain... not bad for free mods.
