I do not want to be screwes but the guy at the part store said to me keep the stock gears and not put in the 4:10 in it. He said it will slow it down.

Is this true? So i didn't buy then today just wanted input from you guys first . I think he is wrong

Whjat kinda car? Auto or manual. It will take away from your top end, but depending on your set up it may not matter.

It will make it slower but you'll still be able to reach 100. Those gears will make the car "jump" quicker.

you will still be able to go way over 100 mph.

but you will accelerate much faster.

Well I wouldn't say he could go way over 100. If he get's 4.10s then in an AOD / AODE he will redline at ~108 MPH at WOT (and chances are if you are racing, you are gonna be at WOT.) If he is cruising and accelerating slowly, then he can get past 108, but at WOT that's his redline in 3rd gear in an AODE at WOT (with 4.10s)

actually they dont lower ur top speed much....my mom's mustang has 4:10's on it...and weve done over 130 mph in it.....on the high way it has high rpm's but thats just to be expected....

if you wanna get close to 4.10 but not the whole way i'd go for 3.9's i think that's what i'm going to do still trying to decide casue right now i have 2.73's and 3.73's prob will be plenty
