Go out and test your battery and tell us what the voltage is with the car off. Then turn your motor on and let it run for about 5 minutes, retest the battery and tell us what that voltage is.

before you go replacing anything, make sure your terminals are clean and the switch on the alternator is plugged in all the way. also, if its a rebuilt alternator or even a new one it could possibly be defective. test it out maybe you can get your money back.

In that case I'd say you need a new battery. I can probably tell you what's wrong with it if you'd take a multimeter to it while it's running and while it's not running, it's not that hard to test it.

An altenator wont kill the battery while it sits. Either the battery wont hold a charge or there is a draw somewhere. if you have a test light, pull the neg cable off and let sit for about20 mins hook the light up to the battery post and terminal if the light is light youve got a draw somewhere. i would load test the battery first, i know most parts stores will do it for free if you bring the battery in the store.
