possible trans. prob?
ok, when im drivin normal i have no probs what so ever.. goes in/comes out of every gear perfectly. however when i have it to the floor and am shiftin the shyt out of it, 1st to 2nd wants to hesitate in N and i think because of this it grinds just a little bit, not real bad, but u hear/feel it, and im sure its not normal. 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th, etc all shift fine, no matter how hard i shift it... they all go right in w. no probs but 1 to 2 likes to grind a little bit. i was going to put in a short throw (pro50) and was thinking this may help that prob. but after more thought i dont know that it will... what are yalls thoughts on this?

dropping the trans. isnt as bad as everyone thinks. if you have common mechanical knowledge, you can have it out in a couple of hours. it just requires removal of the driveshaft, exhaust system, and shifter assembly. as for the syncros, you should just get the trans. rebuilt. if you take them the trans. it will run around $500 for a rebuild.

im not worryed about actaully droping the trans.. ive done it before(87 chevy pick up), bigest thing is that its gonna be a few days w. no car(very hard... full time student, two jobs) and $500 less then i thought i would have(planed to have enough for tools for school, exhaust, rims... looks like ima keep the stock wheels for now)

some say its not hard, just VERY tedious. i personally would just play it safe and have someone do it. and you probably have the "turbine" wheels.
