RE: Gear Install
seriously, unless you have the right tools, bearing presses/pullers, oversize sockets, torque wrenches both inchlbs and ft lbs, a bunch of drain pans, digital calipers, backlash guage, leave it to the pros, its wuite complicated making sure everything is within spec, and shimming and stuff.... install should only be about $200-$250

RE: Gear Install
If it's a daily driver, leave it to the pro's... Otherwise, it's not all that hard to do, but theres a lot of very fine adjustments that you have to play with otherwise you'll have a nightmare on your hands... Like you asked, find somebody to teach you that knows what they're doing...

^^^ that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.... if you drive the car once a year or a thousand miles a day: if the rearend is not installed properly your not going to go anywhere because you'll f*ck the rear end up so fast! All you'll have is a bunch of expensive scrap metal that look like gears with out teeth.... i think sacmo should explain to you on how to install gears in detail since he's giving you a load of BS[:@]
try the regional section to find someone in the neighborhood or reputable shop to install them.

RE: Gear Install
It's pretty simple, I'm not going to sit here for 10 hours typing out detailed instuctions on how to do it... That's why I said to get somebody who knows what there doing to TEACH you... If it's a daily driver, you don't want to spend a day, week, month getting it right... Mine is no longer a daily driver... I spent about a day getting it right, about 25K miles later, I haven't had a problem....
