Default Convertible top question

I tried to adjust the 2 hooks so that they would go up more thus pulling the top closer. I unscrewed the lil screw on the hook and turned the hook so it would go up all the way but it still doesn't pull the top down all the way. Are there any other places for adjustment?

I think it’s just the 2 hooks.
Tighten your hooks when the top is up.
It worked on my vert.

i believe also thats its just the two hooks, have you looked at your weatherstripping on the top that meets with the door windows, it may be interfering with the top being able to seat it self all the way. i replaced the pin and hook plastic inserts on my vert and noticed it tightened the fit a lil bit, but it is noticeable when i clamp it down. good luck, if all else fails bring it to an upholstry shop they might know a few tricks

I tried adjusting mine without sucess. I finally had to replace the top, and the shop fixed them so they fit tight, no more leaks!

mine has an almost brand new top, the two hooks are adjusted so that they clamp as much as possible but i can still pull/push the top up and down so there is still movement.....gah

How are the cups to which the j-hooks clamp? After a decade of use, they can break. Ford still sells replacements (Mustangs Unlimited & Latemodel Resto also should have them). Although, you'd probably have seen that if they were broken...

Is the stripping missing? My top fits real snug and my J-hooks are only half way in.
