HOT!!
 

well i got my motor finally put in my car and she is up and runnen!!!! (got pics but comp is being gay) well its running alot hotter then it normally did i burped it a couple times and lots of air came out and now i am pretty sure all the air is out but it still is running hot i dont get it any thoughts??

some of us may not be familiar with your setup... stock rebuild? stroker? gotta let us know these type of things... Obviously a stock used water pump isnt going to keep up with a 347 stroker... if you built your motor and are running a performance setup did you:

Upgrade your radiator?

Drop the stock fan for an electric one?

Drop the temp on your thermostat?

Upgrade/Replace your water pump?

^ good suggestions, at minimum out a 180* t stat in her, and go 3 core copper/brass radiator

everything is still stock i just rebuilt the motor sorry

chances are you need to replace the radiator and t stat, might as well so that all the old buildup in your radiator doesn't run through your block, i'd spend $150 on a 3 core rad and $ 12 on a fail safe t stat 180* and you'll be in good shape. thats what i run and my car runs much much better since changing, i switched before the motor was rebuilt though so i have no before after info for ya... sorry

Make sure you got all the air out. You might think you have but it could still have some air in there. After couple of heating and cooling cycles, check your radiator. You'll probably be low on fluid. Steam (air pocket) is going to read hotter than the coolant, so it could be a false reading. You mention that it's running hot -- what is the temperature?
Did you put a new water pump on when you put the motor together?
