I cant really see it to well. But it looks like someone forgot to change the oil every 3000miles Or the bearing could have been installed with not enough/to much clearance. Or not enough assembly lube on them.

Can you get some close up pics of the bearings, one rod one crank bearing. That will tell you loads right there. Also, a pic of the crank journals would be nice.

youll see crank bearing, copper, in the middle wear

journals on the crans pitted 2 of them the rest, a polish would take out

looks like the big ends of your rods are ob-longed. Or oval shaped, happens usually on high mileage engines or ones that were run pretty hard. Could also be to much clearance. Do you know what your rod bearing tolerances were? Should be 0.0015-0.0025, with .0015 being on the tight side of things and .0025 being kinda loose. I build my motors a little loose. They put out more power,.

I found a used shortblock that turns over by hand but its a 1971 shortblock, MEXICAN

LOOKS GREAT

now what all do i have to do to convert in on my 1990? Im worried about camshaft, timing, distributor, oil pan , lifters, pushrods etc.

Id plan on giving it fressh rings and bearings anyway

to have this block repaired is ALOT

turn and polish crank $175 balance rotating assembly $175 hot tank, replacecam bearings and freeze plugs$225 , seing the bearings, the machinist said my crank may be warped and useless
