Default Should I cam it???

When I go to take the lower manifold back off (again!) to fix my ****ing oil leak??? I'll be that close and I was wondering if you guys think that I should do it. I'm sure that it'd be worth some power on my car. If so what should I go with??? TF stage 1??? E cam??? Mods are in my sig. And plus if I cam it I can get a couple more RPMS outta my torque converter when I'm loading it up. I also was wanting to replace my timing chain, and I've already got a brand new set of Ford Racing lifters.

Your not going to see as much of a gain as you would with heads but its still worth a few ponies and a intimidating 5.0

I have heard that the stage 1 cam is better than the e cam.

That's what I'm thinking, since I've already got the street heat intake manifold may as well get the TF cam too.I'm sure that it'll be worth a SOTP difference. And I'll get more rpms out of my stall when I'm brake stalling it.

Well, considering the cam is what defines your power curve(s), why not?

I'm not sure how the TFS1 cam is, but the E cam is great for autos supposedly

Calling all cam gurus! I still think that the TF stage 1 is going to be my best bet. I wonder how it would sound on my car??? I bet that it'd perform pretty well.

Stage 1 cams sound realllly good IMO. I really like them. Alot of people go with the trickflow stage one cam because it offers a little extra lift on the exhaust side .510 instead of .498 like the FRPP E cam.

Also, I think someone is selling one right now brand new for $100.

I just listened to a few clips and it sounds good, not to lopy but enough to tell someone what's up.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

163.00 + 63.95 for a new timing chain and gears from Summit, 230 bucks ain't too bad. But if someone on here is selling one brand new for 100 bucks then I might just do that because money is tight right now during the school year. Also that cam would be perfect for my power band (2000-5500 rpms)

Here is the guy who was selling it.... Im not sure if he still has it or not but PM him and find out.

mustang2race

Anyway, why do you say that your powerband is at 2000rpms? because of your converter?

WAYYY too much.... Well, maybe not that bad, but O'reilly's sells the Cloyes double roller sets brand new for $39 and if you can get the cam from that guy then you're set for 1/2 the $$.

Well that was just a ballpark estimate for the stuff. Then I have to tack on gaskets and stuff. I work at a parts and service store and we've got an account with Summit Racing so it won't be hard to get ahold of the parts and gaskets and stuff. The timing chain and gears won't be hard to get ahold of for cheaper either.
