s.b.f. water pumps??****

one word............suck,,,,,,,any of you put a water pump on and only have it leak from behind that dam plate???? thats comes on the new water pump ??fords worst design ever...

my dad's got a edelbrock high volume water pump and we've had no probs with it.....

when I replaced the original pump on my '88 it was because it had leaked out the back side like you said and the corrosion actually left some small craters in the gasket surface on the cam cover plate. I got a new one from NAPA and removed the back plate and used some high temp RTV on both sides of the plate and then on the gasket and bolted the whole thing up and have had no more problems. I agree the design leaves something to be desired!
