I've got a 1989 GT hatch, 5 spd. I've been looking for a good cai. I've had people tell me that bbk and mac are junk. what are you using and what is your opinion of it.

Before I installed the S/C I had BBK and never had any issues with it. Installed easily, looked nice, and worked great.

well CAI doesn't really add that much..maybe 1-2hp
but i had a BBK and it worked..good i guess
some people get the ebay ones and they work fine

BBK is fine Iv never heard any thing bad about them. I have heard some bad things about the mac though.

+1 but I ran mine w/ my blower. Only using part of it now, LOL

BBK and MAC are the only ones that make a good CAI for the 5.0, I don't think that anyone else makes one for us??? Besides some Ebay companies.

As mentioned before the quality of MAC is questionable. I got mine a couple weeks back and it's about 2" too short, it doesn't reach the fender. I phoned the company and they claim the kit will not work with after market motor mounts, which I have. Pretty laim excuse. I just had mycai custom made, it's cheap $$ and quite original.

i run a morrosso it is balck and gets the job done plus it ain't all " hay ya'll look at me shiny intake i reckon that theres worth at least 35rwhp's" it looks almost stock and i like that.

you could make a cai at home depot that will give you the same benefit as one you pay 150 for such as bbk.
