got a race tomorrow need some help
This guy that I sorta know has been talkin crap about my car bla bla bla, he drives a 01-04 gt with a "built" motor... bs! also has 4.10's and exhaust, the regular. The race is going to be at the track and I will most likely by using slicks. I am going to go through the car a little to make sure its pretty much perfect. What should I check and clean.. etc?

what is your mod list? if you arent built urself a PI stang would eat you alive. however.... i get the feeling u have nothing to worry about. btw, apparently I have a built motor by some peoples standards (gosh... i havent even touched the motor.....)

im in the exact situation your in, this guy i used to know, never got along with him, well his daddy just bought him a pretty new 2002 GT, its got 4.10's, exhaust, minor bolt ons, well, he has been talking some major crap about my car, i dont really even care. Im done with all the "My car is faster than yours" stuff, kinda growing up. But i still might have to put a stinging on his *** even still.

lol, kick his *** seabass! that guys probably puts down 250 rwhp, and thats being generous. im not in the mood for math, but the numbers are stacked ever so slightly in your favor here. just make sure to put some money on it

+1 those Pi's are quick. If anything he's running a mid 13
they run a 14.0 stock

easy,
1.Check all oil and fluid levels, make sure they are full.
2.Make sure your slicks give you traction, BUT DONT HOLD YOU BACK(TOO LITTLE AIR), so do some test runs and set to highest tire pressures.
3. Set your timing up to around 16 degrees and use 93 octance .
4. Go to your local gas station and get a small pack of ice. and dump it under your intake manifold before racing, keep your car cool, dont leave it running etc, the track will probally be HOT.
5. KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL with it pressed down BARELY OR AS FAR AS YOU WANT, do some testing at home again;test.

I have eliminated LT-1S AND, Ricers on boost and all 4.6 encounters sucessfully, the 302 is a VERY POTENT motor.
Now I have 4:10's and I will say, I pass up of 350+ hp engines easily, so thats whats scarring me is that he has 4:10 gears

My friend's 03 GT with high flow X pipe, flowmasters, C&L and MAF ran 14.1 @ 99 with a 2.4 60', then with 4.10s and 555Rs he ran 13.5 @ 100 w/ a 1.8 60', I'd think with a good launch a stock one could run 14.0/13.9
