Default trickflow h/c/i for 89 GT

ive been thinking about just getting the h/c/i without any extra addons that come with the trickflow kits, only because i am sort of limited on my money.

do you guys think it's okay for me to put lt headers/c/i without the extra kit addons?

just trying to make sure my exhaust doesnt break down easily.. without spending a lot of money (kit is like $2200+ and im not cool with that)

h/c/i is HEADS/cam/intake not headers, sorry. And you would be fine doing that but your gonna wanna get new maf, throttle body, and full exhaust including headers to get the full potential out of your h/c/i combo. But you could still do it and get good gains.

ah yes, i mean heads. =P

so get new:
MAF
80mm throttle body
heads
cam
intake
long tube headers

equals: good system for cheaper than the full kit

correct?

EDIT: and a nice motive 3.73 gear set

get a 70-75mm TB and a 76mm MAF, 80 is too big for that combo, your going to be taking in way more air than your exhaust valves can release threw the exhaust if its still stock, i'd open the exhaust before a head/cam/intake upgrade, just my opinion. I'd stick with shorty headers, 1/5'8" to a 2 1/2" mid and cat back, long tubes are meant for high hp motors (i.e. 400hp+ min.)

DONT BUY MOTIVE GEARS!!! Buy Ford Racing Gears, they fit very good and almost no shimming! (some install motive with no problmes but i've never heard of FRPP's giving problems unrelated to installer error!

Good Luck

80mm is way too big for that set-up, 80mm might be needed with a fair size supercharger but that's about it. Or with strokers of course.
