Default Battery in trunk??

I'm not sure if anyone has done it, but if anyone has or knows anything about relocating the battery to the trunk/hatch please post I don't mind your opinion either so that will help too. I want to do it but I need the pro's & con's about it and is it worth it? Thanks!

Here's what I might get http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=10367

Lots of good info HERE. Also, if that's the kit you want, go with the one from summit. It is $15.00 cheaper and contains the same parts.

Depends. Do you have any other weight reduction? Do you street race it? Ever go to the track? If you don't race it, then there's not much point to it other than to clean the engine bay up a little and provide a very nice spot to mount a MSD box. I plan to move mine in the not-so-distant future, but I run mine at the track.

I got the Summit deal. They want you to drop the tank everytime you need to take out the battery though. F-that. I went to Home Depot and bought a spring, and it holds everything done nicely, and it's a snap to take the battery out if I need to.

You do need to drop the tank though to install it.

Now you have a great place to mount you ignition.
