Default Racing a 350z today...gas?

Later on I'm going to race an automatic 350z
It should be a close race since they run 14s stock (automatic)

I just filled my gas tank up though, is that going to give me a bad disadvantage?

Ya its a disadvantage, each gallon weights 6.5 pounds, so if you had a 1/4 tank your car would weight about 80lbs less. You should be able to take a Z. I have beaten 3 stockers and ran neck and neck with one that was modded(Exhaust, Intake, Tune).

You must have a fast 83, because I raced an 04 or 05 with bolt-ons, and got my a$$ handed to me sideways. This was when I was stock. After I got 3.55s, I raced him again, and at least got my a$$ handed to me straight--by about 2-3 car lengths by 70mph. After 75 or so, that thing started to really scream. Those things are fast as hell. Don't they run 13.5s stock?

a Z has this for power:

VQ35DE—3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine (M/T models)
300 hp @ 6,400 rpm
260 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm

Unless you have 300hp, I think he might have you covered. You'll torque him out of the hole, but he'll run you down.

What's you motor combo?

Stick a tube in there an ciphan it out, if you get beat don't use gas weight as an excuse you'll just sound like a guy with a civic with a shopping cart handle and folgers can.

How much does a stock Z weigh? If it weighs considerably more than a mustang than don't worry about the gas, but definitely don't use gas weight as an excuse if you get beat. But I'm sure that you won't since you drive a mustang and not a civic.
