Thing you can beat a z28 now? I have a friend w/ the LT1 (pre 98) and when my mustang was stock it kept up w/ him, now I have him by 2 car lengths(when my tranny works)

well if it was an actual quarter mile i probably woulda got him, but who knows. i just need to get to the track already so i know where my car is at with an ET

with your set up it was more likely a ls1,,,,i have raced a hanfull of lt1's...it was blah...now a ls1 he's got some mods and gears..had to be 4.10's cause he was shifting before me...once i hit 4rth i got him by a car before a tractor pulled across the road!....i have tried to talk to him,but he just blurts out you got lucky...[&:]

yeah this guy had real low gears probably 4:10s cause at about 4500rpms in third for me he was shifting.

well i know for a fact a LS1 is no monster to mess with. my buddy has a '01 SS running in the low 10's. with a cam, exhaust, 3.73s and bfg's he was 11.9...... so make sure you have a healthy mustang before you try your luck with any LS1.

CAm swaps are big deals for LS1's as far as hp increase goes.

They can lay down in the mid to high 300's rwhp with nothing but a cam swap.

cam eh 11.90's??? i ran 11.91 this past summer...the run of the mill camaro's are pretty much stock since no ford can touch them...

Oh i know what you mean. it doesnt take much at all to make an LS1 a beast. But this is actually the first person to play with my car ever since i did the rebuild. theres a guy up here with a ws6 thats runnin 10s on the bottle. off the bottle he runs mid 11s

1998-2002 camaro came with the ls1. 1993-1997 the camaro came with the lt1.

the newest body style has the ls1. 97-up. the one that has the bubble like headlights that are flush with the front end instead of sunken in. even the 93-96 are fast with the lt-1 tho. 14.1 stock i believe. unfortunately it takes some mods and good driving to beat a stock camaro. but nothin is more fun to drive than a 5.0
