RE: Questions about edelbrock performer rpm heads
some trickflows require different pistons, and also beware of a bigger cam needed to make the most of things.
AFR 185 is the way to do, in fact, I ve seen a write up of a 400 hp stock 302 using those heads

go to edelbrock homepage and they have alot of sections with different numbers using power packages that they put together. a little research and you will find exactly what you are looking for.

RE: Questions about edelbrock performer rpm heads
well i got thinkin that same way, i wanna go with the edelbrocks because i can get them as a bare head new, since im going to school for cylinder heads, i can port, flow and do whatever else i want, if i could get a bare afr 185 i would theyre a really really good head from what ive read and heard, but im planing on makin 400 rwhp with a 347 is a 347 is what i do, i may go with a 331 and really dont know what kind of power i would make with that

well you dont have to worry abot notching anything as long as you have aftermarket pistons designed to run heads like that... just know what heads your going with when you get your shortblock.

RE: Questions about edelbrock performer rpm heads
edelbrock performer and rps flow the same on the intake side, the exaust it different. same with the afr 165's and 185's. same intake flow but exaust is different. edelbrock makes great intakes, there heads arent top shelf anymore. a set of old school highports, canfields, or afr's will put them in there place.
