So 185's are probably the way to go since I'd have to get my pistons fly cut anyway becuz of my cars year.
yep, you might as well go with the 185s, they're only like $30 more than the 165s.

88Blue, I'm with you in that I'm probably going to do cam when I do the heads, but am up in the air on what brand/type of cam to go with. I also wasn't sure if I should get stud or pedastal mount rockers, and 1.6's or 1.7's.

Any thoughts?

I have AFR 185s with Crane #2031 - 214/220 @ .050 - .513/.529 and 1.7 rockers

I'm not 100% sure, it's been a while but I think that you need to match the rocker ratio to the cam and the AFR 185 heads have stud mount rockers (I do anyways)

LoL I really didnt do that much to it yet. I just did the tune up, royal purple oil, slp's, mds c&r, 3 core rad and igntion wires. The D&D K member was supposed to be for my 88, I got the street heat for the 93 but havent installed it yet and the 2800 stall came off of my 88 gt also...

I would of been installing a blower this weekend but I got into a freakin accident and it cost me all my cash. Thank got it was in my Intrepid! [&:] I would of shot myself if I messed up the stang lol

well some cams like the Crane 2031 list their lift/duration specs with 1.7 rockers, but usually cams give their specs in relation to 1.6 rockers.

This stuff also confuses me.... so if anyone wants to go into detail about choosing rockers and either studmount or pedestal mount go for it....

BUT PLEASE... if you are posting information make sure that its correct!

That's extremely helpful and is that a really aggressive or mild cam, or is it somewhere in between?

Thats a mild cam.... nothing crazy. But if I am right about this which I am not sure I am I have heard that 1.7RR will add about .030 lift so if its .543 than thats kind of aggressive.... if I am wrong PLEASE correct me because I dont want to give out false information and Im trying to learn about this stuff also!
