Default 95 GT been parked for about 3 years - What to do first?

I’ve got a bone stock 1995 GT that’s been parked outside (in west central Georgia) for about 3 years. It has not been started or even had a battery for the entire time. It had about half a tank of gas in it the last time it was driven. That gas is still in the tank.
This was our daily driver until shortly after our little girl came along. I had not intended to leave the stang unattended for so long, but things happen. Now I’d like to once again use it as a daily driver.

Obviously, I need a new battery, but what else do I need to do to get it drivable again?
Has it been sitting too long to expect it to fire right up?

At this point, I mainly just want it running and drivable in stock form.

Thanks
Mike

make sure nothing crawled up into the motor too, leaving things outside that long I wouldn't doubt that an animal of some sort got in there

+1 ^^^

You may also wanna give the exhaust a good look. After that period of time, chances are something has crawled up in there. Around here I would expect to find a wasp nest or two up there. Same goes for the vents inside. I'd hate to see someone turn the AC on and get a face full of bees.

I let my 88 sit for about a year and I had birds nest all inside my car.... and all other kinds of sh*t. Also, make sure you clean out where the cowl grill is... Im sure there is TONS of garbage backed up in there.

Because they prob google "mustang forums" come up with this since its the first site that comes up. Posts and than moves on to another one and never checks back to see if it was answered or not... i hate that sh*t. We waste our time to answer someones question who is just going to read it and log off and never give anything back to the site. You should be required to have like 100 posts of something before you can post a thread. That would eliminate alot of these quetions lol
