Default need help with 302 engine build.

My engine is a 1985 ford 302. Iam torn between the afr165 and the afr185 heads, does anyone have any opinions on either? what cam, rockers, and rods would you guys recomend with afr heads for mid-high end power?

I would use the 165s, a custom grind Comp cam about .512 lift / 218-224 degrees duration @ .050 and Comp roller tip rockers. This would pull strong through the mid range and not break any parts.

If you plan on keeping it NA than you can really go with either one. The 165's would be a little bit more in your area though. But if you plan on strapping a SC or Turbo on than you should look into the 185's.

AFR 165's with TrickFlow stage 1 cam

remember to upgrade pushrods and lifters at same time or expect problems.
