CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

i'm doing those resistor thing to eliminate those egr/emmission codes..

will this be a big deal or not it says to use 75 ohm half watts...i was going to use two 150's twist them together to create 75 ohm but it would be 1 watt instead.

RE: CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

watts is ohms/volts. so if you end up having the correct amout of ohms, and your volts stay the same(12-13.xx, from battery) they yes it should still be only .5 amps... but let some one else back that up before you go w. it. im in my automotive electrical class right now and just got done learning that stuff.

what do you mean 150s? if you mean 150 ohms, then no, it creates 300 ohms... which will not work.

well is it going hurt or not?....this is supposed to trick computer...

RE: CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

not if you connect two 150's together...that's twice the resistance so it brings it down to 75ohms.

two 150Ω resistors wires in parallel will create a 75Ω load, if you were to wire them in series, it would create a 300Ω load. so yes, two 150Ω resistors would be fine.

However, you can turn that stuff off in the ECU with a TwEECer ;)

it was only a dollar...a hundred pennies;)...i'm bored so wtf i'll try it...that's good to know about the tweaker...

also linna wants that lap top;)

^ bingo.... introductory to circuit design I, reminds me of my first semester of college... lol and yes it will be the same

also to some here that have these same issues, and are not ready for the programmer idea...i can help those who are unsure about if this works or not.;)

where did you get the instructions to do this? is there a link?

THe best way to get your answer is go up to your local stereo shop that may have an ohm meter pay them a couple of bucks to put your resistiors together to get your the desired resistance. If you are not within .75ohms you will not get the effect you want

i just did...went back to radio shack....and i was right.....now with the 390ohm the closest i can get is 400ohm...so i hope there a is a range of +- 10ohm....[&:]

i hated that... we had to make a breadboard to a certain amount and everyones was different

Adder is correct on the resistor connections. Two 150 ohms in parallel will give you 75 ohm load. Also if you use 1/4 watt resistors this would be the same as using a 1/2 watt resistor.

so it has to be a 390? no range of + or-

Joel5.0 09-15-2006 11:06 AM

RE: CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

Yep....the ± is already in the tolerance spec for the resistor (± x%)...need to get a resistor (or combo setup - series/parallel) that will net 390 ohms.

RE: CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

dammit...i hate soldering...this is supposed to kill the fault code right. not just eliminate CEL?.

IS there a way of knowing if meter is out of calibration?

RE: CAN I USE 100 OHM INSTEAD OF 75 OHM

Other than having the driveability problems w/out logging a code 66/26/56....nope. Suggest to redo the clocking exercise after you take care of the resistors........Again...keep in mind that once the resistor problem is solved, code 33 should show up + 44 + 94 ...during a KOER....but no CEL should show.

i am soooo close...my surge is so small that i'm going to back away and leave it alone...and i'm talking like 100 rpm surge...
