I'm in Houston too................

Right now me and a buddy are installing what you see below in my sig.

got 351W short block from www.tbolt.net with forged pistons, cam, balancer, flywheel, oil pump, and timing chain
for $2,400 .......... all I have to do is bolt heads, oil pan and intake on basically.

351 block is MUCH stronger than 302 block, and is cheaper to build than 347 and should last longer.

something to keep in mind..............

emissions .............. as longs as you get street heads, keep the smog pump stuff, keep the EGR and run cats you should be fine.

do not every go back there as the done know ****..using a tweecer r/t you could see about 25hp from a stock engine
ORIGINAL: 92GreyGT

Your computer will run the car fine everywhere except at idle. I was told by a local Mustang shop that a chip will not improve performance, it will only help drivability issues in an EEC car. I am at that point now with my 331. It runs great as long as you aren't idling.

Are yall both in houston? I've lived in San Antonio, and Port Aransas and ive never heard of a car having to pass emissions around here. In port aransas(population 3000) They one guy who does inspections is damn near blind; no parking brake, no blinkers, no horn, no problems. Passes every time!!! Just build a bad *** motor, no smog, no EGR, and drive down to san antonio, or port a and get it inspected there
