My Mustang came from the factory with an '89 Thunderbird rear end that had 3.55's already in it. I guess I just got lucky.

the 89 t-bird had an indipendent rear suspension.... do you have IRS???.. and i dont think the t-bird ever came with a 3.55 gear.. at least not in the mn-12 body cars anyways.

?? Nope, its a solid axle.

Just FYI, I'm going off info from the dude I bought the car from. To add a little credibility to what he told me, this was his 11th mustang, so he does have some experience with these cars. Now, I'm not saying its 100% true because I don't have any way of really proving it. You know?

However, I do have disc brakes in the rear and they take '89 thunderbird pads/rotors/ etc.

edit: just changed a ? to a .

i didnt men to offend man. i was just saying that 89 was the first year of the new style t-bird.. 88 was the last yeaar for it on the fox platform. the fox platform had the same rearend as the mustang but 89 and up had an indipendent rear suspension setup. i think the turbo coupe had the same calipers and pads in the rear as the newer style t-birds.
