331 stroker question

RE: 331 stroker question
A stroker motor with good heads and a custom cam should put you into the 11s. If it doesn't the car itself needs more attention.
Don't build your combo off the fact you already have a BBK SSI intake. Cut your losses early.

RE: 331 stroker question
im not building my motor around my bbk manifold cause i have it. i bought the manifold cause i like the way it looks. i no im never gonna have the fastest street car around so i went with a look that i liked. And the whole purpose of me building a high compression motor is so i dont have to use a power adder like a supercharger or nitrous. I just want a quick reliable car

RE: 331 stroker question
Stroker engine will love that BBK intake.
331 is good engine, 347 little more cubes but at the cost of little more stress on everything.
run you a nice 331 w/ 10:1 compression, but remember to get a stroker cam.
Compcams makes the XFI stroker cam, just for these set-ups, make sure get that or custom cam.
regular 302 cam will screw with your compression ratio due to shorter duration.

RE: 331 stroker question
Right now i am runing the b cam . it runs and sounds good but i no a custom cam will work better. not that gas is a big deal but i am currently getting 21 miles per gallon and i was just wondering if anyone knew what kills the gas mileage. my friend has a 331 low compression and get about 12 mpg.
