Upper/Lower Manifold?
Yea its runners are different from stock moving your powerband or widening it or something.

Also frees up some HP to due restrictive old ones

I think im right

On the newer Mustangs (guessing 90's and up), the computer controls the rev limit. On most 5.0's, it's set at 6200 or so.

Well, you were right, OB, in that the aftermarket intake have runners that are of different lenghts than the stock one, and that would normally place the powerband at a higher rpm.
I was just pointing out that it's not the intake that sets the rev limit. The computer does.
So it's important that any new intake one gets, to be sure that the powerband is not higher than the rev limit (not many intakes are).
And of course, there are ways to move the rev limit higher

using a intake spacer has an effect on rpm band as the taller it is the more it shifts to the upper end
