I got the Black Magic done last night and it works great. I just connected it direct to the battery, so it can cool the car, even after it's shut off and I noticed a little more zip when I drove it.

I still wouldn't do the a.c. hook up though. I just can't figure out the benefit of doing so and couldn't see how you could wire it without it looking sloppy.

Couldnt you tuck the wires down behind the rad?

Also, what year taurus were these fans available to fit the 5.0? And what EXACTALLY do you need to run one?

It could be a taurus, or its mercury counterpart actually. You will need to use the fan from a 3.8 liter engine, the 3.0 won't work. I think the first year you can ues starts at like 1988-?. Someone will chime in here. I'm going to do this myself after I do a 3G upgrade. I was told the 3G (or bigger) is required because the fan itself pulls about 75 amps. 75 amps is what our 87-93 cars stock amps put out lol. You do the math [:@]

For the a.c., which you know where that is, you'd have to run the wires from it, to the control module, which in my case, is positioned on top of the plastic Vortech cover that goes over my air filter. So it's all the way over on the passenger side, which is where you have to place the module. I just thought it would look strange running a wire from the a.c. to the control module. I couldn't visualize how to make it look right.

You'll be happy that you did.

Especially if your clutch fan is crapping out.
