Default GT40 Intake gasket

OMG I finally found out what was wrong with my car, theres a huge vacuum leak at the front of the gasket between the upper and lower plenum on my GT40 intake. The gasket looks like its about a quarter inch thick sandwiched between two thin rubber gaskets. I havent taken it off yet but is that a spacer? and should I get 2 gaskets (one on each side of the spacer). Somebody help...I can get pics if needed.

Yea that's probably a spacer, and yea might as well buy 2 new gaskets, no reason to pull it twice if you find out later the gasket you reused is garbage now.

It's a phenolic spacer. Install (2) gaskets.

Even though i've reused mine like 4 times with no problems (I was VERY careful!) You can either get gasket material or buy some. It's like $20 for a set of 5 from summit.
You can get sets of 4 or sets of 5 (I always got the set of 5 incase I damaged one putting it on)
You don't have any clearance problems with your spacer? I run a 1" & the very front bolt put a dent in my hood that you can see from the outside [&:]

set of 4
set of 5

I only used the gasket material once, when I was rebuilding my engine to make sure it would run right, but i ended up using them for 2 weeks before I got my other ones on.

Sounds like his was the half inch spacer at most and it looks like he's sporting a 2-3" cowl induction if thats his ride in the avatar.

Yeah it could be a half inch tops but it looked a bit more like a quarter inch but thats neither here nor there, I have a like a 2.5" cowl. Also while screwing around with it yesterday I found that almost all the intake bolts were loose so I tightened them a bit and the vacuum leak got smaller but its not completely gone but OMG it drove so much better yesterday after tightening the intake, now I just gotta go get them there gaskets.
