Ok I took my 89 gt vert to the track tonight...its an auto completely stock....I pulled a ****ing 16.82 and a 16.87...WTF? Am I that bad of a driver? why would I get that ****ty of a time? any ideaS?

well it is an convertable....and stock.....

although that does seem slow

that is a bit slow .80-1.0. advance the timing to 14 degrees total and add some octane, unplug the alt. tire pressure. as far as free stuff if you got some dough thats different list.

i put 92 octane and added some octane booster advanced my timing as far I could safely I think ....did the tire pressure thing.......but didn't unplug my alternator

i floored it...which I think is part of the problem...it seems to have more power off the line if I don't floor it all the way....why is this?

example: if i'm at a stop light and floor it...it takes off like a civic....if I am at the same stop light and push the gas peddle in about 3/4s of the way....it will actually spin the tires.....

A/F ratio, TPS, DIrty air filter TB intake, too much adavnce, fuel pressure to low or high, vacume leak, car needs tune up. hard to say but that should get you started.

hmmmm I've decided to sell it.....i can't afford it right now..i'm straight out of school I have 44K in student loans to pay
