I have a question that has probably been answered before but as some may know im only 16 and don't know too much about cars but am trying to learn lol.

my question is what is a faster car bone stock? are the 5.0's faster then the 96+ 4.6's? cuz i was reading around and unless the sites were wrong they were saying for hp/torque in the 4.6l. which is the faster car?

and one more what was the fastest stock generation of GT's?

I'm not sure about the 96-98 4.6s, but 99+ GTs are faster then 5.0s.

you'd think the 5.0s but really the 4.6s are better, but when has ford tried to beef up the 5.0 lately? ya they haven't touched it since 15 years ago right? i think ford could reintroduce the 5.0 and have it beefed up and i gauranteed people would buy it. but thats a whole nother subject.

The 96-98 4.6ls were approx 0.4s slower doing 0-60 and 0.3s slower in the 1/4, so technically the 5.0L is faster, but it's deffinitly a drivers race. 99+ the 4.6L is way way faster.

so my 86gt would cream a 96 gt but not a 99+ gt?

Did you read the last post? lol. The 5.0 is less than half a second faster 0-60 and even less in the 1/4...So no...If the '96 has a better driver he will probably win.

i beg to differ... The engine may have more horsepwer.... but all gt's are slow... exception of the s197.. the 05's and up... and the cobra engines.
