yeah, it was a mig. I dont think the guy really did that great of a job. I have southside machine lift bars, and running Nittos. I am somewhere close to 375hp, 460 tq. I have spray. but, I dont baby the car, I drive it pretty hard. and when it hook, it's like a rocket. well, you know Zach, you got slicks.

Yeah, shielding gas is a must...When I first started MIG welding, I didn't have shielding gas and I bought some flux core wire and got some decent welds... They were ugly as there was splatter. Flux core wire works OK if you're outside and have issues with a breeze -- I've used it outside on fences and stuff in the winter and it welds OK.
When I got my first taste of shielding gas & copper wire, man -- it was like night and day! The weld pool wasn't constantly getting blasted away by splattering. The welds were much better as I was getting better penetration due to the heat remaining concentrated at the location of the desired weld.

Yeah, I know that you have to switch polarity and I did.
It still didn't make clean welds -- definitely not as clean as sheilding gas welds.
- Jeff
Edit:
And I said it was good for outdoors -- given a choice, I'm using shielding gas anywhere else. I was the one who made the comment about cheap welders.
