Man I hate this guy!!..
This morning I pulled up to work and the owner (which previously had a 03 Corvette) had a 2006 M5 sitting out front. For you that don't know the M5 makes 500 horsepower and has a v10!! I am largely discourged now.... I am putting on my BBK headers and I was hoping to eventually beat his Corvette; that i was about 3/4 of a car length behind him...
Now this car is almost scary fast and I dont know if my car with gas will even get him

It doesn't cost too much (relatively speaking) to get 600 HP out of an old 302 / 347 / 351. You can get hi, it just won't be easy, LoL.
A 347 crate engine will run about $3,700. Toss a used procharger or vortech S/C on top of that for another $1,300. Then if you're bored and got some extra money spend an additional $500 on sone N2O... Okay, so I'm being a bit unrealistic and there are some necessary supporting mods. But even without the nitrous the 347 and S/C alone would put you well over 500 HP for $5,000. That's really not that expensive.
A 347 crate engine will run about $3,700. Toss a used procharger or vortech S/C on top of that for another $1,300. you're dreaming................ try more like $7-9,000 min.

Well of ocurse $1300 used, but many people rune used S/C's and have absolutely no issues with them at all. Or if you like to gamble, you can probably find a new powerdyne out there for that price. If you wanted to do it differently, then just spend the $3,700 on the 400 HP 347 and spend $600 on a N2O kit with a 100 shot. Even though it's kinda cheating, you can still dyno 500+ HP for under $5,000.
