Plugs and wires are not really performance mods per 'se. Yes if your old ones are bad they will help but if they are good you will not see any measurable gains. It's good maintinance though.

I work at an Auto parts store the only reason spark plugs are offered in platium is beace plantium is a harder metal and with stands higher temperture. Its mostly just for the plugs to last longer. From what I was told.
I use standard Autolight 3924s.

The silver wouldn't really make any noticeable difference at all. At the high voltages fed to the spark plugs they can jump large gaps of air to make contact, which is a terrible conductor. Even though silver is the best conductor, I don't believe it's worth a difference at all. I'm sure the amount of actual silver in the spark plug is such a small percentage it doesn't even make any difference. It's all marketing.....
