Default Four-Eye Fox Question

I know the '87 cars had a two-tone paint scheme (with charcoal grey on the lower panels) but was that an option on 1985 Convertible GT's? I have found one that has this and was just curious if it had been painted or if it could be original?

Actually I just read through that page and browsed the gallery, and it appears it was a factory option called the Black Lower Accent. This adds the letters XP after the main color paint code. They call it black but I believe it is a dark, matte charcoal color which matches the trim. Interesting!

Click on the photo gallery for the 1985 GT's, and about half way down the page there is a white GT hatch with the owner standing next to it. It has the black/dark charcoal from the trim down. Click on that picture and read his description. I suppose he could be making it up, but I doubt he'd go as far as to list the paint code with the XP after it.

I think it may well have been some half-year factory option.
I too have seen these cars over the years but no one knows anything about them......

lol, I have found SO many errors on that site, and I have shown them their inacuracies in the past. There were more 85's that were two-toned than 86's

yeah, but we are talking about a few thousand cars that were painted this way, not a few hundred, it is not an uncommon to find cars painted that way
