Need advice on New Purchase

I'm looking around for a 94-95 mustang. I was wondering if there is a big difference between the convertible and the coupe. I was told a 200 pound weight difference... I'm looking to yank the engine and have one built. Will it be ok to put 500-600 hp in a convertible?
