****, I think my third gears tops somewhere around 80 mph with my T-5 and 3.73's. Is that not right?

Yes that could be right, but for an equal comparison you need to be in 4th gear (1:1) to be the same as 3rd gear (1:1) in the AODE...

Drop in a manual or drop your gear ratio....

Just wondering why do you have to go over 118? I'd get into a street race here and there but thats a crazy speed to take it up to on the street.

i would never do it on the street

done it on the highway twice

anything above 110mph in an AOD-anything in 3rd gear is really pushing it.

i only got to 125mph in 3rd because it wouldnt shift into 4th and just climbing rpm's almost shat my pants

Like stated earlier, 28" tire is the cheaper, possibly better, way to go. Or you could mess with the rear gearing. But, I strongly suggest going with a 28" tire and get the correct speedo/drive gear for the combo.
I believe your pleas are falling on def ears. If I was in his position, i'd get 28" tires(drag preferably) however, not very many people have the same level of common sense that we do.
Has nothing to do with falling on deaf ears. has to do with state inspection laws. If i run anything with a larger (or smaller) circumference it won't pass inspection. But like I said earlier, I just may have to do it anyway and deal with it later.

i know its on the books, but do they actually enforce that? get an extra pair of stock wheels from a junkyard for every other year when you need to pass inspection maybe?

You'd be surprised how picky they can be up here. They failed me last year because I had no front plate! So I stuck it on there and went back. I have no idea what that has to do with vehicle safety, but apparently it's required for a safety inspection. I'd hate having to swap out the wheels every time, but it looks like I may have to do that. bad enough I have to swap out my offroad H-pipe every time too.
