RE: running out of gear (top speed)
i would never do it on the street
done it on the highway twice
anything above 110mph in an AOD-anything in 3rd gear is really pushing it.
i only got to 125mph in 3rd because it wouldnt shift into 4th and just climbing rpm's almost shat my pants

I believe your pleas are falling on def ears. If I was in his position, i'd get 28" tires(drag preferably) however, not very many people have the same level of common sense that we do.

Like stated earlier, 28" tire is the cheaper, possibly better, way to go. Or you could mess with the rear gearing. But, I strongly suggest going with a 28" tire and get the correct speedo/drive gear for the combo.

Has nothing to do with falling on deaf ears. has to do with state inspection laws. If i run anything with a larger (or smaller) circumference it won't pass inspection. But like I said earlier, I just may have to do it anyway and deal with it later.

i know its on the books, but do they actually enforce that? get an extra pair of stock wheels from a junkyard for every other year when you need to pass inspection maybe?
