Default AFR Heads

Can you put 185cc AFR's on a stock top end 5.0 motor?

Car is a 1995 GT 5.0. A few people told me that the 185's won't work because of piston issues...

The plan for the car is to throw a Vortech on with supporting mods. Full MAC exhaust and CAI are on now. In the process of deciding on Heads and Intake.

There must be a million intakes out there... Which have y'all had good success with?

Oh, and should the throttle body be updated? If so, what kind? I want all this to work with a Vortech that is planned for the future.

no, AFR 185's intake valve will not clear stock pistons.

try AFR 165's or TwistedWedge heads, pretty much just as good.

If you're looking for everything get the TrickFlow top-end kit for $2,200
comes with heads, intake, cam, pushrods, rockers, valve covers and all gaskets ..... make sure you buy new lifters too.

70mm TB should be fine now and with s/c

its so easy to relief cut, it not even funny man, in fact youll take off so little material, a rebalance will not be needed of the eninge.
if if that were true, then everytime carbon and gunk builds on top of the engine , you will need a rebalance since that adds more weight than youll be taking off.

I just take 1/4 layer playdough, turn the motor over with the heads on it and old head gasket, let the valve hit the pitson and motor will stop turning by hand.

Remove the head and clay except where hitting, and notch that area, then do all pistons like that, and thats at, period. It takes a matter of seconds each piston and I have done several 302's like that, and screw that isky notcher tool for $100 youll cut too deap and screw up your valve seats using it.

, put each piston to TDC AND DO YOUR THING if you want 185's get em

you have tool rental stores, or retail stores

A dremel tool with cutting discs does just fine and only takes seconds.

VERY EASY TASK
