Default Custom Chip Question

I just found/spoke with the guy who built my car--2 owners ago

He told me my car has a custom chip to the build you see in my signature.

If I change to a 76mm Mass Air and 30lb injectors(currently stock Mass Air and 24lbs) after I repair my heads will the Custom Chip be way off?

It's certainly possible. Did you find out what kind of chip it is? If so, you can find a shop in your area that uses those chips and they can reflash it for you.

I would DEFINETLY go with 36lb/hr injectors and a 76mm... you are running a h/c/i setup with a charger. You should be seeing 400rwhp with that... or close to it.

I heard Ford stopped making the 36lb injectors due to problems, so I was told try the 30s and then use a Fuel Management Unit if still running too lean.

The FMU's are a bit of a hack way of getting more fuel.
It would be better to have the computer tuned.

Your chip will most likely be off, if the custom tune was done correctly.

You need to know where the chip came from and how they tune their MAF/Injector setups.

Most tuners will modify the MAF and Injector settings in the EEC-IV. If your settings have been modified, then you will have to get the car re-tuned.

Let us know how it works out.

I would than go for a used set of 36lb injectors.... 42's might be a little big but the 24's are definetly not enough. Also, screw the FMU. They are garbage... get everything setup and go get a tune.
