suspension questions
My car will spend 90% of its time on the street pulling daily duty, but I would really love to upgrade my suspension for a hard launch. It seems to me that one of the biggest problems with alot of the mustangs on here, is that they have all this power but can't get it too the ground. I don't believe that I need the best of everything. What are decent brands that aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg. What are some good web sites to consider. What type of tires are good for the street but also for the strip. Drag Radials have me real worried about day to day performance. This car is going to see the rain too. thanks ahead.

RE: suspension questions
It depends on how much money you have and how deep into your suspension you want to go. Most people just do the basics. I consider the basics to be upper/lower contro arms, struts, shocks, springs, etc.
Now if I were you I would go on ebay and get D&D's front end kit. I believe it retails for about $500 dollars. It comes with a tubular K member, a arms and coil overs for the front. Than get yourself a set of c/c plates. This will shed tons of weight off of your front end and still not kill the pockets. Than just go with u/l control arms in the rear with shocks. Some good companies are D&D, QA1, Strange, Comp Engineering, etc. If you want the best of the best you can go with a company called maximum motorsports. Now they will definetly cost you an arm and a leg.

RE: suspension questions
For a decent performer at the track and good street manners, I would go with adjustable Strange struts and Moroso Trick or Eibach Drag springs in the front. For the rear, u/l control arms and a relatively stiff spring with 50/50 shocks. Subframes are a must as well. And, if your changing control arms, go ahead and reinforce the torque boxes too. As for tires, stret tires will still be hard to hook up at the track. Nitto DRs are a decent drag radial that gets pretty good mileage and is ok in the rain. I've gotten stuck in the rain with my new BFG DRs and I don't recommend it.[&:]

RE: suspension questions
I went onto ebay and saw the D&D K member kit for $580 from a company called cool blue performance. How would the coilovers compare to the strange struts. What exactly is a coilover anyways. So the nittos would do me good in the rain. Another question I have is about the quad shock rear. What is it? I thought the rear was a 4 link. I see where people can take these shocks off without problem. If so, then why are they even there. keep it comin fella's this is helpin plenty.

RE: suspension questions
the coilover moves the coil spring from the arm spring pocket to the around the strut. this gives you better handling and drops maybe 2 or 3 lbs, plus you get a way to adjust your ride height. if you want you can just buy the coilover set up from d&d and shine the k-member and arms.

RE: suspension questions
full length weld in subframe connectors should be your first purchase (get Maximum Motorsports $150, buy worth the quality), in the rear upgrade the upper/lower control arms, 50/50 shocks, get rid of the quad shocks to fit larger rubber, i wouldn't use drag radials if its a daily driver, get a pair for the rear on a set of cheap rims for when you go to the track, i'd look into a 4cyl stang front shocks for the launch, torque boxes in the rear will help alot if you have 350+ hp...
quad shocks are installed to keep the rear axle from twisting, its a lateral support, if you get torque boxes you can remove these, some people also turn them around to fit larger tires or just remove them w/o the torque boxes.
k member would be a great relief to front end weight... ^ suggestions above are all good

RE: suspension questions
what would your suggestion be for tires instead of a drag radial. This car isn't going to 300rwhp for quite a while. I want to get the chassis and suspension done first. This is going to take me awhile. Is there some type of noticable difference from putting on the subframe connectors. So if I put on a good set of shocks and springs I don't need to worry about the quad shocks. I'm guessing that with the upper and lower control arms would only help this. I would like to run at least a 275 series tire, but somthing towards a 315 series would be even better. How would the rear coilover kit do. Would they give me a noticable difference.
