Default spacers

Got my new valve covers installed and the edelbrock proformer upper intake clears with about 1/4 of an inch and it has a 1/2 inch spacer. So I can't really see my valve cover so I ordered a 1 inch spacer. My question is should I put both on or would it be a problem to have both on there. Not worried about hood clearance or bolts size.

Is the intake and everything bolted back up? Is the car running?
