i have 200 amp alt and with u/d on it it still would barely charge it idle. It drops to around 5volts every time the bass hits. Only drawing 375w max.
If your bass hits that hard, then you should probably get a capacitor... or do you already have one? My Sub (when it's in) pushes 600 watts, and thats RMS not peak watts. I had to get 2 farad capacitor just to make sure it wasn't going to dim my lights or anything.

94/95 mustangs will not be affected in anyway with them.

not true at all. My car does not charge at idle.

neither does mine, but your alt isn't supposed to charge your battery. it is supposed to hold a charge.

Yea, i really do need to get a capacitor. It draws my alt bad, it's just a punch 500 and 2 Power Hx2 12's. I wish I had a punch 800.

the volt meter isnt supposed to drop every time i sit at a traffic light.... but it does. Ive watched the system on a digital meter and at idle i am getting 0 output from the alternator because of the underdrive pulley. soon as i tap the gas, or even raise my idle to 1000 rpms with my tweecer, the voltage jumps to 14.5 volts

Ummmm....... What?

What restores the battery power used to start the car if not the alternator?

The alternator runs the car once it is started, but it also recharges the battery as needed.

So when your battery is completly drained, you just jump and and let your alt. charge the battery? And people wonder why their alternators go out.

you altenator will burn out from exesive use like from sound systems and crap and yea it would burn out from recharging the battery all the way like that, but a batter holds a charge if it didnt then you wouldnt be able to start your car, b/c the battery would be dead, a batter wont hold a charge tho after you drain it completely. you altenator is bassically a little power generator, it take mechanical energy convert its to electrical energy wich is then used to power your car and to restore the power taken from your batter to start the car
