Use to have an AOD in my 93GT. Killed the overdrive band in it one day, fixed and put in a shift kit and 3000 stall. Got tired of guys being able to kick down harder than me because they had 5 speeds. Sold the tranny, bought a T5 out of a cobra, don't know why i didn't do it sooner. It was an easy swap except putting in a cluthch assembley. Had to get some help.

I would not buy an Art Carr. I've had several of their AODs and every one of them as failed for one reason or another. It was always due to being poorly built, not from anything having to do with racing. I have a hard time deciding who makes a more inferior product, Art Carr or Kooks.

thats the first bad thing ive heard about art carr. The trans guy at my work, used to work for ati and hes built allot of competion aods, said he was a good name and real good to deal with, and this was years ago before he got real big. i know im calling him tommorrow to order my converter and valve body with a transbrake.

I bought their Extreme AOD rated to 800hp. The first one was broken when I received it. The car wouldn't move. I sent it back and never found out what was wrong. I broke the 2nd one with 262rwhp and the other 2 with less than 450rwhp. None of them were from racing. It was always something from just being poorly built. They were all having internal problems so it's not like th clutches went bad or wore out or anything. I went through 4 of them (including the first one that was shipped broken) in under 1,000 miles. The last time I have it repaired by them I sold it as soon as I received it. I just cut my losses and went with a PA Supercomp C4.

I am really looking at the ART CARR valve body and there custum stall. About $1100 total.

It depends on what valve body you get. They have full manual VB's were you have to shift it everytime. And than they have street/strip VB's where you can hold each shift manually or just put it in gear and go and it will shift for you.

I currently have a B&M transpak shift kit with a Hammer shifter which is OK,but I was thinking of upgrading to a PA (performance automatic) valve body. I have heard good things about them from a couple of people.
