Default AOD ?'s

OK I have a transgo shift kit but I still want the overdrive lockout so I am thinking of buying a LENTECH or ART CARR valve body and also going with a good stall converter at the same time. What I am asking is what You would go with, or would You can the AOD and go with a t-5? I have a limited budget also to consider (I AM MARRIED) HAha!

Thanks For any input in advance, I value all Your opinions and Ideas they have came in very handy!

Thanks again,
Preston

No, I heard its not that hard to install a VB. I would either pull your tranny and do a VB + Stall or have a shop do the VB.

definetly keep the AOD.

Keep the AOD, Lentech Valve body, easier to install than a shift kit, and a 3000 stall.... less than that is a waste of $$$.

As long as you keep it in drive it won't go into OD.

But yeah, I'd get a manual valve body.

I'm pretty sure you can use the stock shifter. If it were me I'd buy the B&M Hammer shifter though.

my aod has lasted lot longer then 2 t-5s t5s are ok but dont hold up to alotta torq and dont like juice off start..if any1 has had same t5 on there car on a beefed up motor,,,and its lastin, then i say you need more power..a manual vb on a aod,a A servo and kevlar clutches, band, vb are just unscrew all screws and pull of vb and put up new one and bolt it..

Valve body is WAY WAY easier to install than doing a shift kit. You can get the lentech street cruiser VB which is basically a pre-installed shift kit and it's supposed to keep things cooler and be more efficient, but you can't manually shift with it. I'd go with a custom torque converter, anywhere from 500-1000 bucks depending on who you buy from.

Most of the TransGo kits have the option to lockout full throttle overdrive or make it available. If you want more control over overdrive then get a vb with O/D delete. Lentech FTW.
