Basically we all have jobs and pay for our own rides.
Does anyone care to admit that mommy or daddy paid for their car?
My dad bought my sister a new truck when she was 18. I survived on crates of 650 Triumph Bonneville parts that I managed to keep alive and clunk around on when I was 18/20
That was 1982, things are better now.
If you have to borrow money to buy something, it means you can't afford it.
Some of you set aside some money each pay period for the car. This is what I do also. Transportation fund.
I could pay cash for a new Shelby, but I can't afford it. My house needs a new roof and siding, and I want to save for other investments and retirement.

I am a Tool and Die maker so I do alright, and can do a lot of machining and make trick parts myself also. My car is always in battle with my house, my wife, my 2 kids, and my 3 other cars. I just need my wife to go out and get a job when the girls get in school, then I will be all set. I try and put away about 75 bucks a week to put in the stang though.

RE: How do you fund your 5.0?
The money I make from my full time job goes to my family. I work extra to support my 2 rather expensive hobbies. My extra money comes from being a distributor for performance parts to accounts in my state (and some NX sales on the internet), owning a vending business, and buying and selling Mustangs and Mustang parts.

PHEW! Good to see I'm not the only one! I guess you could say I'm still training though. I keep offering but so far no customers [:@]. All of the girls I ask at the bars are "meeting someone" there, hmmm........
lol my real job is running the self-storage business my Uncle owns. I do pretty much everything here, office work, landscaping, weed picking/spraying, and sometimes he even has me reviewing architectural drawings for his construction business. I hardly get to work now b/c college started. I'm 17 (18 in 2 weeks). Right now I'm pretty much saving all of my money and only spending it on gas and the occassional item.
