i thought cold air intakes go outside of the engine bay, to force.. COLD air into the intake..

That would be a fenderwell CAI. This is just a regular one...They're quite useless really, because they're not sealed from the engine. It's more for show than anything, which is why I want to get rid of it.

You can have your intake go inside the fenderwell or in the motor bay. Fendermount intakes are better though because you dont pull in all that hot *** air
