Default cant find this noise

ever since ive had my car its made a clunking in the rear when turning left and only left

its not like a tapping and it almost sounds like its something inside the hatch but theres nothing back there. took spare/jack/subs out and it still made the noise.

put the car on a rack today and tightend/wiggles every piece of the suspension, lubed and greased too... STILL makes this noise.

when the car turns it feels loose but the steering is tight and precise. car is straight as an arrow. i tried wiggling the tires with it in the air and the tie rods and bearings are solid - apsolutely no movement.

there is 1 problem, the tires infront rub at full turn (225/55/16). they dont really rub but they have scraped up my inner fenders pretty good but theres no marks on the tires its just a tight fit basicaly.

driveshaft isnt hitting anything. im running out of ideas. AND ITS ONLY WHEN I TURN LEFT!!! grrr i know when i figure this out its goin to be something really stupid [:@]

Could be your rear drums.

Also you personally wont be able to move suspension mounts like the car can. Maybe your rubber mounts are worn?

It is common in older hatchbacks that the hatch striker and latch mechanism will begin to wear down. It would not suprise me to find out that your hatch is moving around a little bit under load in turns.

just something to think about.

Did you check to see if your front sway bar endlink had broke? Also if your tire is rubbing that could also cause it.

My friends 90 GT did that and when we replaced his fuel pump we realized the baffle in the gas tank was broken
