Finally Got to the track this year/engine
Hey guys, I finally got to the track this year with the new engine. I went to Rock Falls Raceway near Eau Claire Wisconsin. I was running on street tires The ol' Kumo 711s @ 20psi.
It rained like crazy the night before and they were drying the track. My first run ever with the new engine, spinning pretty bad was a 13.128 @ 111.77mph. 60 ft was terrible that run, axle hopped bad and the track was still a little slick. The tires broke lose hitting third! She got a little squirrely.
Second run I missed 4th believe it or not. got a 13.5
3rd run got better at 13.002 @ 109MPH
4th spun bad again and got a 13.206 @ 108MPH.
I let her cool down for about a half an hour and then unleashed the fury.
Hooked up surprisingly well got a 60ft of 2.044 and finally got into the twelves with a 12.800 @ 111MPH.
Couldn't get back into the twelves the rest of the day. Red lighted my first round and missed 4th again on my first consilation race, damn it.
Not too bad for an untuned car on street tires with an iffy clutch.
But I did beat an 03 Vette...

I got Lakewood 90/10 struts and shocks and HPM Mega Bite Jr. Lower Control arms, but have FRRP lowering springs. You could smell that POS King Cobra clutch all day. Centerforce is going in next year for sure.
